The Improv Movement Project is fiscally sponsored by Minnesota Fringe, allowing us the benefit of their non-profit status and ability to accept tax-deductible donations. 95% of $ donated via this page (after GiveMN transaction fees) goes to The Improv Movement Project and will be used to fund its productions, with a focus on paying artists to the extent possible.

About IMP:
The Improv Movement Project, founded in 2024 and led by Sean Dillon and Mark Benzel, aims to expand and transform the Twin Cities theater and improv landscape through body-centric performance, education, and collaboration.
As a company of performers representing a wide variety of physical disciplines (clown, mime, dance, improv, acrobatics, devised theater, etc.), we create improvised shows with little or no spoken language, placing bodies' ability to communicate at the center of our practice.
We have shared our skills and experiences with the wider performance community through workshops, intensives, and physical "jam sessions," and plan to do so again in the future.
We are committed to the bedrock principle that there is no "right" body for physical performance -- if your body can move, it can express, create, and connect. Our company presents a spectrum of bodies across shape and size, race, age, and gender expression.
Past productions include:
- Collidescope at MN Fringe 2024
- AfterLife: The Experience in partnership with Sparkle Theatricals at the Wabasha Street Caves
- 5/5ths of The Labyrinth for MN Fringe 2025
- The Walls in partnership with Strike Theater at the Twin Cities Horror Festival
- Performances/runs at HUGE Improv Theater, The Others Collective, Maggie's Farm Theater, the Bryant Lake Bowl, and the Twin Cities Improv Festival.
