Greg and I have been part of Clouds in Water Zen Center for a little over a year now, and it has become the community I didn’t know I was missing.
This community has given us a lot of care, grounding, and connection. That was especially true this last winter, when so many of us were living with fear, grief, and heartache, for ourselves, our neighbors, our country. Clouds in Water became a place of safety and compassion (and action!) at a time where I could have easily lost my mind, I was instead held in community.
Meditating has helped us stay more present, steady, and openhearted, and we want to keep supporting a space that offers that to others too.
For the 24-hour Sit-a-thon, we’re each committing to meditate for four hours (!!!) Every donation is currently being matched dollar for dollar, so any contribution goes twice as far.
If you’d like to support us and help sustain Clouds in Water, we’d be deeply grateful for a donation of any size.
🙏 May you be happy, healthy, and safe!
About Clouds in Water
Clouds in Water Zen Center is a vibrant urban community in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition dedicated to awakening the heart of great wisdom and compassion. Located in the Frogtown neighborhood of Saint Paul, we welcome people of all backgrounds and faiths. As a non-profit organization, we operate primarily on donations and no one is turned away for lack of funds for any of our classes, retreats, or events.
Why Support Our Work?
While the Twin Cities has several Zen Buddhist communities, Clouds in Water Zen Center is unique in advancing a broad social justice and racial justice agenda informed and supported by Zen philosophy and frameworks.
Clouds is passionate about creating and maintaining a thriving sangha that celebrates diversity and inclusion. From our services and classes throughout the week to our LGBTQ support, BIPOC sitting group, Racial Awareness Groups, Friday Night Zen, 12-Step Mindfulness Group, Youth & Family Program, and more.
