Keep the Music Playing. Help Every Musician Belong. Remove the Barriers.

Since 2022, Space Between, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has provided a free monthly peer-to-peer support group created specifically for the unique needs of musicians and artists. Founded by a mental health professional and fellow musician, Space Between exists because we know artists need more than a place to perform, they need a place to belong.

Since Space Between's inception, we've gathered at The Hook & Ladder Theater in Minneapolis, a venue that has become a cornerstone of our local music community. Together, we've built a welcoming space where artists can connect, support one another, and prioritize their mental health through creativity and community.

Now we're ready for our next chapter.

Introducing the Space Between Community Jam

Over the past four years, our members have shared one request more than any other: more opportunities to make music together.

That's why we've launched a free monthly community jam on The Hook & Ladder's main stage.

These public jams bring together Space Between members, guest artists, and musicians from across the Twin Cities to collaborate, learn from one another, and experience the joy of making music together.

We believe that music is about so much more than performance.

It's friendship.
It's healing.
It's confidence.
It's belonging.

Whether someone has played for decades or is stepping onto a stage for the very first time, we want every participant to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to create.

Our Goal: $4,000

With $4,000, we can continue providing monthly mental health meetups and jams for our community for at least the next 6 months.

We will be able to hire industry experts to provide workshops and knowledge sharing based on their lived experience in the industry.

We will be able to purchase quality used equipment that will serve hundreds of musicians for years to come.

Every dollar stays local, supporting free programming and shared equipment for musicians and artists throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.

Your Impact

Every contribution removes a barrier and creates an opportunity for someone to connect through music.

  • $25 provides cables, drumsticks, picks, batteries, refreshments, and other essentials that keep the music going.
  • $50 helps maintain and repair shared equipment so it's always ready for the next musician.
  • $100 helps provide educational workshops and presentations to facilitate artistic and professional growth.
  • $250 helps purchase a quality used amplifier or speaker.
  • $500 helps add a quality used guitar, bass, or keyboard to our community backline.
  • $1,000+ helps fund a major purchase, like a complete drum kit, ensuring every musician has the opportunity to participate.

Your Gift Creates More Than Music

Your donation isn't simply buying instruments, you're investing in musician mental health and professional development.

You're creating opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and creative growth.

You're helping artists build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

You're making sure financial barriers never keep someone from walking through our doors, plugging in, and finding their community.

Every rehearsal, every conversation, every shared song reminds us that no one should have to navigate the creative journey alone.

When musicians have a place to belong, our entire arts community grows stronger.

Help Us Keep the Music Playing

If you believe in the power of music to heal, inspire, and bring people together, we invite you to make a gift today.

Whether you donate $10 or $1,000, your generosity helps create a space where every musician has the opportunity to be heard, supported, and celebrated.

Please consider donating today and sharing this campaign with friends, family, and fellow music lovers.

Help us build more than a backline. Help us build a community where every musician belongs.
