After a long shift ends, the radio finally goes quiet. A firefighter takes off his gear, a police officer hangs up the uniform, and a veteran sits in silence — replaying moments most of us will never experience.

For many of these heroes, that silence is heavy. But through Hometown Hero Outdoors (HHO), that silence is replaced with laughter on a boat, peace in a deer stand, and the healing power of the great outdoors.

Our mission is simple — to assist military service members, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel by providing unique outdoor experiences that promote healing and camaraderie. Through fishing trips, hunting adventures, family outings, and community events, we help our nation’s heroes reconnect — with nature, with their peers, and with themselves.

These experiences aren’t just recreation. They’re recovery. Every outing offers a chance to breathe again, to build new friendships, and to find a sense of purpose that can sometimes fade after years of service.

How Your Donation Makes an Impact

Your support directly funds real opportunities for healing, connection, and community. Every dollar you give helps create safe, meaningful experiences that remind our heroes they are never alone.

Here’s how your donation makes a difference:

  • $25 provides bait, meals, or basic supplies for a hero on a local fishing trip.

  • $50 fuels a vehicle to transport veterans or first responders to an event.

  • $100 sponsors a half-day outing for a hero who may be struggling in silence.

  • $250 covers lodging, meals, and equipment for a full weekend experience.

  • $500 funds a group adventure that builds bonds and changes lives.

Each of these moments — a laugh around the fire, a sunrise on the water, a friend who listens — becomes part of a hero’s healing story.

Meet Cathy - Our 2025 Matching Donor Champion

Cathy Zelinski has been a longtime supporter and dear friend of Hometown Hero Outdoors. Her unwavering compassion for military service members, veterans, and first responders has made a lasting impact year after year.

Each January, Cathy quietly steps up with incredible generosity to help launch our mission into the new year. But for 2025, she’s taking her giving to the next level.

Cathy believes deeply in the mission, the people behind it, and the heroes we serve. Her generosity is a call to action — a reminder that when we stand together, we can make an even greater impact for those who’ve sacrificed so much.

This year, Cathy is matching every Give to the Max Day donation dollar-for-dollar — doubling the difference we can make together.

Your $25 becomes $50. Your $100 becomes $200. Every contribution helps twice as many heroes find healing through the outdoors.

Let’s meet Cathy’s challenge and show what our community can do when we give together.

Why It Matters

For many of our participants, HHO is more than an organization — it’s a lifeline .When the uniform comes off, the weight of service doesn’t always fade. But through shared experiences and the camaraderie of others who “get it,” those struggles start to lift.

HHO has proudly served thousands of heroes across the country — and the demand continues to grow. With your support this Give to the Max Day, we can reach even more individuals who are searching for healing, purpose, and belonging.

Together, We Can Make Twice the Difference

Your donation today doesn’t just support an event — it changes lives .Every trip, every handshake, every shared story around a campfire starts with someone like you choosing to give.

Please join us this Give to the Max Day and make your impact count twice thanks to Cathy's incredible matching gift.

➡️ Donate by November 20 at midnight to double your impact and help us continue healing heroes through the outdoors.

From all of us at Hometown Hero Outdoors — and on behalf of the heroes we serve — thank you for standing beside us, believing in our mission, and helping us change lives one adventure at a time.
