A Celebration of Inclusion, Community & Possibility

Made in the Shade is an annual community walk, run, roll, and celebration that brings together people of all abilities, families, friends, businesses, nonprofits, and community members to show their support for people with disabilities.

For 35 years, Made in the Shade has created a space where people come together—not just to raise money, but to build connections, celebrate abilities, and create a more inclusive community.

The event brings together seven local nonprofit organizations serving people with disabilities. Participants can choose the organization they want to support, making the event a collective celebration while allowing each nonprofit to raise funds for the people and programs they serve.

🎉 What Happens at Made in the Shade?

The day starts with a community gathering at Thomas Beach, followed by a short program and a fun walk, run, and roll through the park.

After the event, everyone is invited to stick around for a community celebration featuring lunch, music, and time to connect with friends, families, supporters, and fellow participants.

Whether you walk, run, roll, volunteer, fundraise, donate, or simply come out to cheer everyone on, there is a place for you at Made in the Shade.

11:00 a.m. Post-event celebration featuring lunch and music
