Crane Theater improvements!

Help us pay for exciting improvements at the Crane Theater!

We've completed two additional bathrooms, installed new audience seating, and more!

A group of volunteers made these improvements, and several companies floated the funds -- now, please help us pay the costs.

The project was completed with help from Walking Shadow, Minnesota Shakespeare Theater (Shakespearean Youth Theatre), Theatre Pro Rata, and nimbus theatre. (Donations via this fundraiser will go to Walking Shadow and then be redistributed to everyone involved.)

The two new bathrooms are single-use, all-gender, and accessible. We provided new toilets, sinks, tile, paint, mirrors, grab bars, electrical and plumbing. We put handles on the doors, and even brought in super sexy stuff like garbage cans and toilet brushes!

The lush red velvet audience seating on the mainstage was donated by Jungle Theater, and replaces the old hard wooden chairs. The new front row of comfortable moveable seating was donated by Children's Theatre Company. We also widened the existing risers, and created an extra modular riser that companies can choose to use to increase capacity. Not only are all the seats now wider and more comfortable, this increases the total possible capacity from 80 to 90, a huge benefit for renters!

We've also added new lighting in the lobby, concessions area, and bathroom hallway, increased seating capacity in the lobby, and found new seating for the green rooms.

Lots of labor was donated, as were all the seats, but we still had to pay for some contractors, and lots of materials.

Stretch goal: If we reach our goal to cover existing costs, any additional funds go towards the future installation of a drinking fountain in the lobby!
