Border Route Trail Association

The BRT is part of the North Country Trail, a hiking trail from Vermont to North Dakota.  The BRT is a segment of that trail, part is in the Superior National Forest and part is in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. It is maintained by the BRTA, a nonprofit composed entirely of volunteers who make the semi annual trek to Northern Minnesota to ensure the trail is cleared of downed trees and brush and that the trail is in good hiking condition.  Donations are used to purchase and repair tools and cover incremental expenses when they occur.  Volunteers are not reimbursed for time of travel.  This is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the midwest and your help to preserve and protect for future generations is much appreciated.
