If you know me, you might have heard that I was once an avid theatre-maker. I wrote and produced seven original plays between 2013 and 2018. Minnesota Fringe was my main avenue for staging these shows, as its festival offers a low-cost and accessible path for artists of all experience levels to share their work.
Fast forward to now, and I am no longer producing shows, but I rely on the skills I learned by doing Fringe: how to communicate, collaborate, and connect with the Twin Cities' unique performing arts community. Fringe taught me how to step into new roles and organize many moving parts toward a fast-approaching and unmovable deadline.
I recently joined Minnesota Fringe's Board of Directors, and learned that the organization needs to raise $60,000 before January 15 in order to keep artists' fees for producing in the festival affordable. I am helping with a small part of that by raising $500.
Please join me in contributing to the Fringe. Your gift will go directly toward covering the festival's venue rental so they don't have to pass costs onto the artists, keeping the festival open and accessible to all.
