Every season, Team BJORG #2470 recruits students from two high schools in Bloomington MN to learn about robotics. Many of these students come from families who cannot afford afterschool activity fees, meals and snacks during practice times, or travel expenses involved with competing at robotics tournaments.

More widely, the STEM community and specifically the current demographics of professional engineering programs is lacking in racial, economic, and gender diversity.  This results in programs that can lack perspective on the needs of a diverse community.  

BJORG Boosters is a 501c3 charitable organization committed to helping all students participate in a full robotics season calendar without concern for the financial commitment that can be involved.  We seek to waive their activity fees ($185), cover the cost of their group lunches, dinners, and snacks ($5 per meal) during the times that we practice, and subsidize their tournament travel and hotel expenses ($300).
