Golf for PanCAN — Please Help Me Raise Funds for Pancreatic Cancer Research

I’m participating in this three-day golf tournament in honor of two incredible fathers in my life, who have both been affected by pancreatic disease.

My father-in-law was diagnosed with Stage 1 pancreatic cancer in 2023 and underwent surgery to remove the cancer. In 2025, we learned that the cancer had returned and spread to his adrenal gland, which meant the cancer was now considered Stage 4. His battle is not over, but we are incredibly grateful that he continues to fight and has been able to maintain a wonderful quality of life along the way.

Sadly, my own father passed away unexpectedly from acute pancreatitis in January 2024.

Their stories have made this cause deeply personal to me. Every dollar I raise is a way to honor them, support research and awareness, and bring hope to families facing pancreatic cancer and other pancreatic diseases.

Thank you for supporting me and helping me make a difference in honor of these two very special men.

My father, Jim.

My Father-in-law, John.

The Capital Cup adapts the historic Ryder Cup format—steeped in tradition—to promote community pride, healthy competition, and raise money for the Sacramento region’s most deserving charities. Each year, leaders from the Sacramento region are divided into two teams for an exciting 3-day golf competition. Donors have the opportunity to support their favorite player (or their favorite charity), as each player is competing to benefit his or her favorite charitable organization. The winning team's designated charities share a prize fund of $100,000! The tournament started with the ambitious goal of raising $250,000 in its first year. When it well surpassed that goal, the tournament committee raised the bar, and has continued to do so every year since—and every year, the participating golfers exceed expectations. The Capital Cup has raised more than $18 million over its history.
