March 20, 2026 Simple Machines (Mark Benzel) will debut original work, Say When… Taking place at the dawn of the 1900s and inspired by Evander Berry Wall, the “King of All Dudes.” This interdisciplinary work examines wealth, social responsibility, and excess, connecting historical opulence to contemporary conversations about status and privilege.
It's a difficult time to ask for donations with so many causes, individuals, and organizations in need and doing needed work. Any amount you are able to give will directly support the artists and efforts to bring this show to life.
Co-written by Mark Benzel and Matt Spring. Featuring the performances of Amber Bjork (The Winding Sheet Outfit), Jeffrey Nolan (Melancholics Anonymous), Elora Riley (Monster Science), Matt Spring (Four Humors). Stage Management by Scobie Bathie. Costume design by Mandi Johnson (Four Humors). Illustrations by Chris Rodriguez and Projections by Brant Miller (Four Humors). Select sound compositions by Derek Trost.
