Thank you for all of the love and support. We have responded to over 100 calls, ranging from age 5 to 60s, and many of whom have been connected to mutual aid resources for basic needs. Many are continuing to receive ongoing therapy services, the metro surge continues to cause a surge in mental health crises. Every little bit matters at the moment with so many families in need and appreciate the support of Minnesota!
Our community is facing fear, grief, and trauma due to the extended terror caused by ICE raids. Traumatized people are calling for support, many after a loved one has been abducted, to process their emotions, receive crisis support, advocacy, resource connection and clinical therapeutic support by trauma-informed, bilingual, BIPOC immigrant therapists. No insurance needed, no pathologizing diagnostic assessments and paperwork. Call us or email us, Meryl will add to our rapid response therapy chat, and a clinician will pick it up and get in touch (612-289-5656, info@rwc-mn.com). Children can also call, our clinicians are experienced with children and are bilingual (Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, Portuguese). We also plug callers into mutual and connect to community resources, including longer term EMDR therapy, available in Spanish and Portuguese. Therapy is also available in Somali and Vietnamese.
Because we are not billing insurance, the only way to offer this at no-cost and sustain the work is through donations. Your support helps ensure that impacted community members can access therapy without insurance or financial barriers.
Our therapists are also experiencing difficulties at the moment, and your contributions will also support some rest and relief while doing this important work. The majority of us are immigrants as well. There are 12 therapists covering the rapid response calls and providing mental health supports to staff at Minneapolis Public Schools, Mounds View Schools, Keller Williams Realtors (50% are immigrants), Raise the Barr, COPAL and more across the Twin Cities.
We've GOT US. Nobody else is coming to save us. Community is what matters. We appreciate your support. The power of the people!
