Our music boosters help Central with sheet music purchase, instrument repair and purchase, private lesson scholarships, music trip scholarships, and much more

Sheet Music

Due to significant reductions in the allocations we receive from the district, almost all of Central's sheet music budget is covered by our Central Music Boosters.  

We usually purchase 4-6 works in each of these categories below.

A work for jazz band or pep band is $75-100 

A work for string orchestra or band can range from $100-300

A work for full orchestra can range from $200-400

Rentals of sheet music (some music is 'rental-only) $300-500

Joining a consortium of schools to support the creation of new work usually ranges from $200-400

This year we are commissioning a new work to be premiered by our central Jazz Band

Instrument Repairs and Purchases

Our Central Music Boosters fund almost all of our repairs for us. We have already invested $4000 in instrument repairjust two months into the school year.

We are not done repairing instruments, there is a need for support of instrument repair throughout the year.

Thanks to our boosters we have also been able to purchase many large instruments over the years. 

Most recently we purchased two tenor saxophones and a trombone.

We hope to purchase a new oboe this year. And there are many more instruments that need to be retired and replaced

Smaller instruments can range from $800-$2000

Many of the medium to large instruments we need range from $2000-$10000. (and more)

Beyond band and orchestra instruments. The music booster also purchases items the choir program. The new choir robes and all of our digital Roland pianos were purchased by our boosters.

Private Lesson Scholarships

This past summer we had 12 band/orchestra students in private lessons at $450 ea. through music booster scholarships. 

The boosters provide around $12000-$15000 in lesson scholarship support to Central Music students each year.

Music Trip Scholarships

Last year our music boosters supported over 25 families with more than $12000 in scholarships for our music trip to New Orleans.

And yet more....

Our Central Music Boosters fund additional jazz instructors, guest artists, section coaches, accompanists, buses for events, contest entry fees, our concert programs, concert receptions, Bowlero, other fundraisers, and advocacy and outreach.
