Dear Friends and Family,

I have been invited and given an unexpected and humbling opportunity that I would love to share with you.

This September, I will embark with friends and walk the final 100 kilometers of the Camino Frances, also known as the French Way. This six-day, 62-mile trek will start in Sarria and end in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The Camino is an ancient pilgrimage. For centuries, people have walked it seeking healing, clarity, gratitude and spiritual growth. For me, this walk is deeply personal. It’s a time to reflect, to pray, and to walk with intention.

I am walking to raise money for a cause that’s close to my heart: Smile Network International. My goal is to raise $25,000 to repair smiles on children whose lives will be changed through your generosity. Your support, encouragement, and donation of any amount will mean the world to me and to the children whose lives and smiles will be changed through your generosity. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible.

These surgeries will help restore their smiles and give them a brighter future. Every dollar raised will go directly to this mission — I will be covering all of my own travel and trek expenses. Every smile will be a reminder of how blessed I am and how many in this world are still waiting for help.

A bit about the Smile Network.

Smile Network is a non-profit Minnesota-based humanitarian organization that performs surgeries on children born with a birth defect of a cleft lip or palate. For as little as $500 and in 45 minutes, Smile Network can repair their smile.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

Sincerely,

Karen McLaughlin
