Connecting Neighbors, Growing the Community
2025 has been an amazing year for LHENA and the Wedge. Some of our most memorable projects include:
- Providing FREE groceries to roughly 60 neighbors a week through our Food Share
- Uptown Porchfest
- Monthly environmental litter cleanups
- Launching our Building Ambassador Program to help renters and multifamily tenants become more connected with the neighborhood
- Social Events (Mega Mueller Market, National Night Out, Halloween in the Park, and more!)
- Launching a new commercial grant and multifamily loan program to support business and property owners in making repairs
- Moving into a new community-facing office
The Board is incredibly proud of the many ways LHENA has been able to support the Wedge and the greater South Minneapolis community through a diverse array of projects and programs, however, there are certain things that LHENA is unable to do without YOUR help, specifically, directly supporting renting families in need who are at risk of losing their home. Last year for Give To The Max, LHENA partnered with the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association's (PPNA) Renter Support Fund (RSF) to raise $510 to send directly to renters in need. This year we are confident we can surpass this amount and reach $1,500. With rising costs becoming the norm, in the grocery aisle and on rent statements, LHENA wants to work with our community to provide security in uncertain times.
Your donation on Give To the Max Day will go directly toward LHENA programs, general fund, staffing, and the new renter support program in 2026.
We invite you to add a note to your donation mentioning the cause that you most want to support!
