Jane Allen: 2026 Miles for Smiles Fundraiser

Life is full of journeys, and this year, I’m honored to embark on one that is unique and meaningful. 

This Fall, I will walk the final 100 kilometers of the Camino Frances, also known as the French Way. This six-day, 62-mile trek will take me from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. One mission during this journey is to raise awareness and funds for Smile Network International.

My goal is to raise $2,500, which will directly sponsor life-changing surgeries for five children in León, Mexico. Every penny donated will go toward this important mission, as I will personally cover all my travel and trek expenses.

Smile Network International is a Minnesota-based nonprofit that provides free cleft lip and palate surgeries to children in under-resourced communities around the world. The impact of their work is profound, giving children not only new smiles but also new opportunities in life. What makes Smile Network truly extraordinary is the dedication of its team. Most of the staff are volunteers, including the doctors, nurses, and anesthesiologists who generously donate their time and skills on these surgical missions.

By joining this trek, I am proud to play a part in raising awareness and funds to support this life-changing work. Together, we can bring smiles to children who need them most.
