About Hatch Dance

Hatch Dance is a Minneapolis-based contemporary dance company led by choreographer Helen Hatch. Since 2017, we’ve created original productions that merge dance, theater, and music—transporting audiences beyond the everyday and into moments of movement, meaning, and connection.

Our 8th Season at a Glance:

PARADISE

On tour

February 7–8, 2026 | Duluth

March 4, 2026 | St. Cloud

PARADISE returns for Hatch Dance’s first tour. Celebrating wonder, connection, and finding warmth together in winter, we’re thrilled to bring this work to more Minnesotans, with performances at Studio 4 at The Depot (Duluth) and The Paramount Theater (St. Cloud).

How to Cultivate Your REM Cycle

World Premiere

March 26–29, 2026 | The Southern Theater, Minneapolis

Hatch Dance returns to the stage that feels most like home: The Southern Theater. This new allegory of dance, theater, and music explores how sleep can guide us back to presence — aligning us with the deepest part of ourselves.

Showing

World Premiere

June 2026 | Location TBA

Hatch Dance and HoneyWorks reunite for their fifth collaboration. Choreographer/directors Helen Hatch and Berit Ahlgren follow last summer’s critically acclaimed IN C with a new site-specific work. Continuing their vision of bringing dance to unexpected places, Showing will shine a new light on one of downtown Minneapolis’s most enduring landmarks.

Expansion Intensives

Winter Intensive | December 28–30, 2025

Summer Intensive | August 2026

After a wildly successful pilot last year, Hatch Dance is expanding Expansion. Participants ages 14–25 will join us for rigorous training in contemporary dance, Hatch Dance repertory, and special seminars designed to provide tools for a sustainable creative life. New this year: pop-up classes and workshops throughout the season.

Why It Matters

At a time when the Twin Cities dance community faces closures and limited opportunities, Hatch Dance remains committed to creating artist-centered, community-driven work that nurtures connection and imagination.

“The show knocked my socks off… I was deeply moved. I cried several times and felt changed afterward. Lighter, more hopeful.” — Audience Member

“Hatch has shown herself to be a choreographer willing to take risks, discovering the work with the dancers as part of the process.” — Sheila Regan, Star Tribune

Your support ensures Hatch Dance continues to develop artistically, connect collaboratively, and share broadly—keeping contemporary dance vibrant in Minnesota.

Every gift brings us closer to our goal.

Thank you for supporting Hatch Dance!
