Drive-up Food Ministry at First Lutheran Church

Our weekly drive-up food ministry began in 2020 as a way to feed our community during the COVID shut-downs.  What started as grilling up some burgers from our church garage has led to five years of providing free, hot meals to our neighbors each week.  While this is a ministry of First Lutheran Church, the church budget does not directly support the weekly meals.  We still rely on donations and grants to help fund the program.  It has been very common in recent months for us to serve over 250 meals each week.  Our food ministry leader does his best to keep costs at a minimum, but with the increase in number of meals served each week it costs upwards of $800 a week to feed all the folks who line up in their cars to receive food.  Thank you for considering joining with us to feed folks in the Albert Lea area!
