Economic barriers remain one of the most significant challenges facing students. More than 48% of our students are Pell-eligible, indicating substantial financial need. 57% of students are first in their family to attend college. Many students balance coursework with employment, family responsibilities, and limited financial resources. Unexpected emergencies can quickly jeopardize a student's ability to continue their education.
Acts of Kindness provided to students facing unforeseen circumstances help them stay enrolled and complete their degree. The program is designed to help students navigate short-term financial crises so they can remain focused on their education. A relatively small emergency grant can be the difference between a student staying in school and completing their education or being forced to stop.
