I'm fundraising to help save the Boundary Waters — one of America’s last wild places.

Hi, we are a group of people doing an epic adventure in the Northwoods of Minnesota, and we are passionate about preserving the breathtaking beauty of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

One of the main reasons for embarking on this journey is our deep love for the Superior Forests and the meaning they hold in our lives (you can read more about this in our blog). Each of us — Ryan, Owen, Noah, Zach, and Larry — has been fortunate to have access to the gear, guidance, and opportunities needed to build our outdoor skills. We also know firsthand how places like the Boundary Waters can shape personal growth and deepen our connection to the land.

These landscapes are facing real threats, from mining to climate change, and protecting them is more important than ever. At the same time, we recognize that not everyone has the means or experience to visit and learn from wild places like this. That’s why we’re asking for support for Save the Boundary Waters, an organization that helps protect these cherished lands while working to make them more accessible to everyone. They have lead the charge of advocacy, legal action, and education. I get all my updates from the recent legal battles from Save the Boundary Waters. This organization is great and we are gonna do everything we can to help them out just a bit.

Every dollar counts, and your support means so much. Together, we can make a difference! Please consider donating if you can! Or just talk to your friends about the importance of the BWCA.

The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) is a 1.1 million-acre haven of lakes, rivers, and forests along the Minnesota-Canada border — one of the most critical regions for climate resiliency. Protected for over a century, it holds 20% of all the freshwater in the National Forest System. With 1,100 lakes and 237 miles of hiking trails, it’s a place where millions reconnect with nature, from paddling to hiking to just soaking in the quiet. Home to wildlife like wolves, moose, and loons, the Boundary Waters is one of the last truly wild places left — and it needs protection now more than ever.

Toxic sulfide-ore copper mining has been proposed just upstream of the Boundary Waters. This type of mining is known as one of the most polluting industries in the U.S., and if it’s allowed to happen here, it could permanently harm the clean water, wildlife, and sense of wild we all treasure. Once the damage is done, there’s no going back.

Let’s keep the Boundary Waters wild, for the love of the Boundary Waters.
