Brainerd Lakes Safe Ride helps keep our communities safe by providing rides home or to a hotel to those at bars/establishments who are impaired and should not be driving. It is Safe Ride’s mission to help reduce serious/fatal crashes and DWIs. These incidents can cause irreparable harm to individuals, families, and communities … to both those driving and those in the cross-hairs of drunk drivers.
As an incentive not to drive, Safe Ride provides up to $15 for a taxi ride home or to a hotel. Any amount due beyond that is the responsibility of the patron. Safe Ride uses vouchers, completed by the bartender and arranges a ride with the cab company.
Since August 2025, Safe Ride has given over 6,000 rides home and has proven itself an important service to our communities.
100% of donations go to the program.
