Corpus Dance Works is a contemporary dance theater company fuses daring movement with bold storytelling through multi-media art, satire and absurdity.
OUR ASK
Corpus Dance Works yearly programing consists of an annual emerging choreographers showcase called REJECTS in January, and an annual NEW evening length work created and performed by the company in June. We are fundraising so that we can continue this yearly programing.
Funds will be allocated towards costs associated with making the Rejects Program free for participating artists (renting the venue, lighting designer and photographer/ videographer). Funds will also be allocated towards our June show (paying dancers, rehearsal space rental, theater rental, and lighting designer).
More about REJECTS:
Each year, this show brings together 22 Minnesota dance artists/choreographers presenting short works that have all been rejected in some way or another. We have ignited this annual show to cultivate community among non-recipients and also to find a creative way to give voice to the heightened discussions surrounding dance funding, access and opportunity in the Twin Cities. More info.
More about JUNE:
We will be expanding a work titled 'Big MILK' into a 60 minute evening length show. This work premiered in May 2026 as an 18 minute excerpt set on Threads Dance Project as a part of their Tapestries Choreographer Program. 'Big MILK' is an exploration into and criticism of, the US government's inability to make systemic changes and the ineffective ways that they have thrown cheese at a problem. When faced with recessions, housing crises and growing poverty due to inflation it seems that the US government continually “fixes” the problem with combative capitalism, consumerism, and funding ad campaigns.
