An update from Elm, now Trout's adopters;

"Elm (now Trout) is such a sweetheart! He took a few days to relax but he really started coming out of his shell!

He loves getting up to get a view and cuddling up on the couch, and he also loves singing for his food when it’s almost meal time ❤️ He has been such an incredible addition to our little family."

He limped alone down a cold, empty road. Every step a silent cry for help. When rescuers stopped to save him, Elm looked up with wide, pleading eyes, still trying to be brave. No one could have imagined the truth hidden beneath his pain: a bullet lodged deep in his leg. Someone had shot this gentle, two-year-old cat.

At the vet, it became clear his leg couldn’t be saved. To give him a chance at life, it had to be removed. The clinic staff named him Elm, short for “Entire Leg Missing,” and somehow, it fits him perfectly; a symbol of what he’s lost, but also of how much love he still has to give.

Elm is now safe in his foster home, purring through his recovery and soaking up every bit of affection he can. He’s already hopping around on three legs with remarkable determination, though his foster has to remind him to rest! Through it all, his tenderness is impossible to miss.

Elm’s story is one of strength, hope, and compassion, and it’s only possible because of people like you.

This Give to the Max Day, your gift helps us care for animals who’ve suffered unthinkable cruelty and give them a second chance at life.
