Prospect Park Association (PPA) Needs Your Help
Founded in 1901, PPA is the oldest neighborhood association in Minneapolis and is the City-recognized voice of Prospect Park Neighborhood. PPA’s mission is to promote, in a non-partisan, educational and cooperative manner, the health, safety and general welfare of the neighborhood and to promote the maintenance and improvement of the aesthetic, residential and physical qualities of the neighborhood environment.
PPA relies on volunteers along with our part-time staff person, to work with City & County governments, nonprofit organizations & community members to help shape our neighborhood. You can help: participate in monthly in board/community meetings or Environment; Transportations and Safety; Community Building; and Land Use and Planning committee meetings. Meetings are currently virtual. To participate or learn more, subscribe to PPA’s newsletter here.
Recent selected accomplishments include installing rain gardens to mitigate the increase of stormwater runoff due to climate change, ‘25 by 25’ initiative to reduce greenhouse gasses, installing traffic calming planters at Pratt school, Census 2020 work to reach under-counted communities, work with the City to reopen walkway from Pratt to Luxton park, formed Renter Rights Subcommittee, created Prospect Park Unified Design Standards, and held the annual Earth Day Cleanup, “Heal the Earth” Eco Tour, and neighborhood yard and tailgate sales.
In order to continue to do such work, we need your help.
PPA has been a means for the neighborhood to craft a strong, influential voice from individual concerns.
We welcome your ongoing participation in crafting that voice.
Please consider donating at https://www.givemn.org/organization/Prospect-Park-East-River-Road-Improvement-Association on a monthly basis. Any amount is greatly appreciated, but a monthly donation allows the PPA to better forecast the budget.
