Shovel-a-T(h)ON

Hello, everyone!

As many of you know, I have the pleasure of serving in the Our Streets MPLS board of directors. Our Streets is a nonprofit organization that focuses on safe streets and transportation advocacy. Meaning, we focus on public transportation, walking safety and rights, and accessibility for all.

Yearly, we do a Board Fundraising event; last year was a walk along Minneapolis neighborhoods. However, this year we are doing something more meaningful.

During the winters, the city of Minneapolis does a fairly good job at clearing street snow. However, this is not the case for sidewalks. Often, they are icey, snowy, and create problems for those who use them consistently, like folks without cars and those who use public transportation or bike.

This year, the board of directors is committing to shoveling many sidewalks as possible shortly after snow storms to help our community and neighbors! I am enthusiastic to join my peers in this task while raising money for this great organization.

TL;DR:
