The Paul Howry Memorial Golf Tournament is held annually in honor of a man who gave generously to the YMCA in spirit, mind, and body. This year's tournament will be held on Tuesday, August 5th at Edgewood Public Golf Course. Every dollar raised from this tournament will go to benefit the Paul Howry Endowment Fund.
This fund is set up to assist YMCA participants with mental and physical disabilities, both youth and adult, by providing them with equipment and services that allow them to stay active and learn life skills. The YMCA has been able to provide features for those with disabilities in the Y’s facilities such as a pool lift, changing tables, and other items in the family bathrooms and locker rooms, and accessible busses and doorways. Adaptive swimming lessons and other exercise programs have also been put in place, along with staff that promote inclusiveness and program involvement.
