Adventures in Americana

Adventures in Americana started in January 2021 as a pandemic lockdown project for two Twin Cities friends who missed each other and seeing live music. It began with writing reviews and interviews for our Music Distillery blog and documenting our concert adventures on Instagram as the world started to open up, but slowly grew as more music lovers reached out to volunteer their time. Today, our media outlet boasts over a dozen contributors across three states (MN, WI & IL). Our blog now includes a songwriting-focused blog series called About That Song, an enewsletter, a podcast (Smouse in the House), a field-video series  (North Country Song Sessions), a social-media-based interview video series (The Hook), a community-crowdsourced events calendar, and an annual concert (CarolFest). We also partner with the legendary Minneapolis nightclub First Avenue to offer ticket giveaways through their Tastemaker program.
