Mary Mullen's Prepare + Prosper 2020 fundraiser

I volunteered as a money mentor for a year with this fine organization and fully support its mission of financial capability.  So happy to share my passion with other dedicated individuals! With the Covid pandemic and murder of George Floyd in 2020, Prepare + Prosper has ensured that tax services and money mentoring can still happen in a virtual and inclusive environment. P+P advocates for policy systems change to end racial disparities, which has always been a priority but is more relevant now than ever.

About: Prepare + Prosper and its volunteers work with low- to moderate-income people to build financial well-being through free tax preparation and financial services, products, and coaching, and by changing systems to create economic opportunity.

In 2019, with the help of 600+ volunteers, 12,200+ people filed their taxes for free and received $24.9 million in refunds; 188 people changed the course of their financial life in our coaching program; and 227 people enrolled in 375 FAIR checking, savings, and credit builder products designed to build wealth, not strip it.
