About 6 weeks ago, I started a FaceBook group called Winning the Pandemic. I was ready to quit FB due to all the negativity regarding COVID-19... but I have seen some really beautiful and amazing things happen and documented on FB... Thus, spawned my idea of a positive and feel good group .. to document people in the WORLD that are Winning the Pandemic.... Only 2 rules: No Political BS and No Hurtful Comments/Posts.  Since then it has been awesome. Kind people helping other people sharing lots of laughter and joy... 

And then... on Memorial Day, our state and country pivoted away from the COVID-19 crisis and learned of the tragic killing of George Floyd and the social unrest that has followed.. ..

I have been nearly silent as my heart is hurting all over again. My heart broke for the innocent people I have witnessed suffering in the last week ... starting with George Floyd, moving to local families and businesses, and finally, the police officers with goodness in their hearts who too many have forgotten.  I wanted to help but not sure where to even start.  My heart ached for so many people this past Saturday night... A small group of friends sat around the fire pit and listened to music..and our hearts started to heal. The music courtesy of Andy Austin was so therapeutic and calming.. it was a balm for my soul that I wanted to bottle and share with others!!  This got my weird brain working and trying to figure out a way to help people in Minneapolis and allow people that I know on the WTP platform to HELP BE A PART OF SOMETHING GOOD!! 

SO, this Friday night - June 5th, we are partnering with Andy Austin, a local musician, to raise funds for Lake Street Council and Operation Thank an Officer for emergency assistance during this time. We are beyond thrilled to provide a FB live/mini concert for some family and friends... to provide a fun evening of live music and healing and, also, to promote and raise money for those innocents who need help in healing, too.
