Spring Forward: Help end Domestic Violence

Over 3,800 individuals seek help from the Women’s Shelter and Support Center each year.

Shay was in a violent relationship for over 10 years. She was abused physically, emotionally, and financially.  She stated that there were many red flags in the beginning of the relationship, but she thought his possessiveness just showed how much he loved her.  After a friend referred her to WSSC for services, she discovered that what she was experiencing was considered domestic abuse.  This knowledge empowered her to move forward with her life and leave the violence behind. “Now I’m not just surviving, but I’m thriving!”
