Thank you so much for helping people in crisis!  Our advocates are working tirelessly to keep people safe, and your support gives them a boost!

What if staying home is not safe?

The COVID-19 pandemic poses extra challenges for victims of domestic violence.

Over 3,800 individuals seek services at the Women's Shelter and Support Center each year.  During this time of Stay-at-Home orders, we are greatly concerned for victims who are sheltering in place with their abusive partners and/or family members. ISOLATION is a tactic an abuser will often use to maintain power and control over victims.   When the abuser is always there, victims lose the ability to call for help and their usual outlets are no longer available.  They can no longer go to a friend’s house, a support group, church, counseling office, or any of the other places where they would normally have access to in-person support.

Even though our life-saving services are only a phone call away, reaching out for help is much more complicated now.  Advocates are going to great lengths to find creative ways to connect with victims and meet their needs while maintaining social distancing guidelines.

Because the additional services have created an increase in expenses for housing, food, communication technology, and additional resources, the Women's Shelter and Support Center is asking for your help.

Your gift today will ensure advocates can continue to serve individuals and families in crisis 24-hours-a-day.   Donate now and save lives, restore hope, and change futures
