The Wayzata Education Fund (WEF) provides grants for innovative, collaborative, curricular ideas across the Wayzata School District that engage our students, expand the ordinary curriculum, and continue the excellence of Wayzata Schools. The Fund encourages teachers and staff to imagine new, creative ways to enhance learning for a significant number of students and support Excellence for Each and Every Student. An all-volunteer organization, the Fund has donated more than $200,000 to support innovative ideas since its 2003 inception. The projects awarded strive to move the learning environment from Excellent to Exceptional. These grants are made possible by the generous donations of Wayzata families and friends, area businesses, and employees of Wayzata Public Schools.*

During the 2015-16 school year, the Wayzata Education Fund awarded more than $40,000 to fund 11 "From Excellent to Exceptional" grants that are currently impacting more than 1,000 students across the district at the following schools:

  • 3-D Printers and an expanded ETD curricular at all three Wayzata Middle Schools
  • An Incubator at Central Middle School
