Voices in the Back is a multimedia initiative for BIPOC artists in the MN music industry , featuring live performances, critical conversations, and exclusive content. Our purpose is to co-facilitate authentic expression, amplifying relevant issues, empower artists and center Black, indigenous, and people of color in the local music industry.
Co-created and hosted by Anastasia Ellis and Alexei Moon Casselle aka Crescent Moon, the two Minnesotan musicians joined forces to help address systemic inequities and create spaces for people of color in the local community.
The first season of the VITB video series was filmed this past November at The Hook & Ladder Theater and the first episode will be released on February 25th at 12 pm. The first season includes conversations and performances by Sophia Eris, Carnage the Executioner, Taylor Seaberg, Chris Parker and Smellkin Ernesto.
All donations will go towards funding our next season of episodes featuring six more exciting and relevant artists or industry personnel from Minnesota. Your money helps us pay our guest artists, rent a space to record in, compensate the video/audio techs and promotion. Thank you for your support!
