Clouds in Water Zen Center is holding a Sit-a-Thon from 10:30 am on Saturday, March 29th to 10:30am on Sunday, March 30th. I will be doing zazen, sitting meditation, for the twenty-four hours, or as much as is practically possible (yes, there are bathroom breaks, et cetera), to raise money for the Center.
Clouds in Water Zen Center is in the Soto Zen Buddhist lineage of Zen Master Eihei Dogen. The founder of our branch of Buddhism in the Twin Cities was Dainin Katagiri Roshi, who dedicated his life to introducing the Zen of Eihei Dogen to English-speaking newcomers. I do a lot of work transcribing his talks, which you can read for free at katagiritranscripts.net. If you appreciate the teaching and practice of Soto Zen Buddhism, please consider making a donation to support one of the communities that is working to keep this tradition alive in the West.
This year Clouds and Water has a donor who will match every dollar that is given with a gift towards paying down the mortgage on the Clouds in Water building. So your donation will be turbo-charged! You can donate through this fundraising page or any of the other fundraising pages in this campaign.
