Valley Friendship Club's goal is to enrich the lives of our kids, teens, and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by providing the opportunity to create lifelong friendships and foster social interactions. Our programs include karate, book club, fitness & nutrition, crafting, hiking, game night, bingo, and so much more!
During this pandemic, we have pivoted from in person programs to virtual and outdoor activities. On November 7, we held our first virtual fundraiser that features VFC members and a guest emcee, Kat Perkins (from NBC The Voice)!! Please take a look at this great video that shows the amazing bonds and friendships that can occur virtually.
Since the pandemic began, we have hosted 116 on-line programs and 27 in-person events for 215 total hours of programming for our members. Our staffing needs continue to be at pre-COVID levels due to the workload of staffing/moderating. The funds raised will allow VFC to continue providing social opportunities for those whose social connections were disparately affected during this unusual time.
This year, VFC received a $500 challenge grant courtesy of "The Stepaniak Family". This means they will match all donations to VFC dollar for dollar up to $500!
Thank you Stepaniak Family!!!
