About Victory of the People

Victory of the People (VOTP) is a civic engagement and leadership development initiative building the next generation of informed, prepared, and digitally equipped leaders in Minnesota. We combine legislative research, policy tracking, and strategic digital storytelling to make government more accessible and communities more informed.

Our work centers on three core pillars:

1. Legislative Research & Policy Tracking

Our fellows tune into legislative hearings, monitor committee activity, track introduced bills, take detailed notes, and conduct policy research. They summarize developments and collaborate in team discussions to ensure accurate, timely understanding of what is happening at the Capitol.

2. Digital Content & Social Media Production

Research findings are transformed into engaging, accessible content. Our social media fellows, content creators, editors, and video editors convert policy notes into:

• Social media graphics

• Educational posts

• Short-form video scripts

• Quick-update reels

• Community explainers

This ensures Minnesotans can understand legislation in real time.

3. Leadership Development & Civic Engagement

We are building a leadership pipeline that trains young people in research, communication, digital strategy, and civic awareness. Whether someone is passionate about government or simply wants to use their creative talents for impact, they play a role in strengthening Minnesota’s future.

How Funds Are Used

Your support directly powers our team.

Fellows ($500/month each)

Our primary investment is in fellows who conduct legislative research, policy tracking, and digital content creation. We are seeking to raise $10,000 to support our fellows over the next several months. Funding fellows allows us to expand hearing coverage, research capacity, and content production.

Staff Support

We currently have two staff members who coordinate research, manage operations, oversee content strategy, and ensure consistent execution. Contributions help sustain their leadership and administrative responsibilities.

Operational Infrastructure

Funds also support essential necessities including:

• Website maintenance and hosting

• Text messaging campaigns and civic alerts

• Digital tools and software

• Communications systems

• General administrative expenses

Office Space (If Funded)

Dedicated office space would further strengthen collaboration, research workflow, and team development. Contributions may help support a monthly workspace investment as the organization grows.
