Make Summer Matter

At The Wave Youth Center, summer is more than time off from school. For many of the young people we serve, it is a season where they find connection, build friendships, and experience a sense of belonging.

Through our Make Summer Matter initiative, we create opportunities for youth to step outside their routines and into experiences that help them grow in confidence, relationships, and awareness of the world around them.

This summer, students will:

• Explore local farms and community destinations
• Enjoy movie outings with friends
• Bowl and roller skate together
• Connect across generations through Bingo at the local Senior Center
• Spend time in outdoor recreation spaces
• Share simple joys like ice cream outings

These experiences may seem simple, but they are deeply meaningful. They help young people feel included, build social confidence, and create positive memories that stay with them long after summer ends.

For some youth, these opportunities would not otherwise be possible. Financial barriers can limit access to experiences that many take for granted. Your support ensures that every student—regardless of their circumstances—can participate fully.

A gift of $140 provides one student with a full summer of experiences.
