The Vision Project 2020

Join MEF in Supporting The Vision Project.

The Vision Project (TVP) is MEF's community outreach program offering free surgical treatments to patients unable to afford care. This annual charitable event provides eligible patients with the sight-restoring treatment necessary to re-enter the workforce, pursue higher education, or enjoy an improved quality of life.

With the help of generous donor and committed corporate sponsors, volunteer surgeons have performed over 350 surgical treatments and over the past 15 years ranging from cataract and glaucoma surgeries to very complex corneal transplant and oculoplastic procedures. 

In addition to the surgical treatment and post-operative care, The Vision Project subsidizes the costs association the initial evaluation and testing, anesthesia, surgical supplies and post-operative medications, resulting in an average cost savings of $5,000 per treatment.

If we reach our goal of raising $10,000, we'll be able to provide 20 cataract surgeries to low-income, uninsured patients next year and will be able to secure an additional $5,000 in support from a generous partner organization.
