The fight against COVID-19 (Coronavirus) presents a challenge to us all.  Tusen Tack builds a stronger community by providing resources through Braham Area Food Shelf, Braham Event Center, Alice Studt Library, Kathy’s Kitchen and Tusen Tack Thrift Store. Although the board has issued a freeze on all nonessential expenditures, our reserves will continue to decline as certain financial obligations still remain.

We thank you for your support of Tusen Tack’s mission to build community and enhance the quality of life of residents in East Central MN.

Tusen Tack is a 501c3 organization with the following programs:

  • Alice Studt Library
  • Braham Area Food Shelf
  • Braham Event Center
  • Kathy's Kitchen
  • Tusen Tack Thrift Store

All programs under the Tusen Tack umbrella support the mission of building community and enhancing the quality of life of residents in East Central Minnesota through the engagement of volunteers, partnerships with other non-profit organizations and providing services.

Thank you for your support!

The Alice Studt Library,

housed within the Braham Event Center, provides convenient access to library resources, including computers with wi-fi access. The library is also a link site with the East Central Minnesota Regional Library System. The library also hosts a book club, monthly community social with varying topics, and films throughout the year.

The Braham Area Food Shelf, also housed within the Braham Event Center, provides food for the local community every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Braham Event Center, opened in 2014, serves as a community meeting place for the four surrounding counties (Pine, Isanti, Chisago, and Kanabec). The center is mostly volunteer-run and proceeds are circulated back into community programs. In 2019, the Braham Event Center had approximately 27,500 people through its doors with a total of 500 events and meetings, including 35 educational and non-profit organizations.

Kathy's Kitchen runs the commercial kitchen on-site at the Braham Event Center and is completely volunteer-run. In 2019, Kathy's Kitchen served over 12,500 meals in 152 events, including 3,000 servings of the ever popular champagne chicken buffet, and peeled over a ton of potatoes.

The Tusen Tack Thrift Store sells donated goods and uses the proceeds to help fill unmet community needs. In 2019, Tusen Tack Thrift Store volunteers put in 9,562 total hours, had a record year for sales, and donated to school programs, food shelf, police and fire departments, Pie Day, Appreciation Day, Sharing & Caring Hands, and other community programs.
