Spring 2021 restoration update
Update posted 3 years ago
This land was acquired in 2020 by Washington County Parks. In spring 2021, corn crop was tractor disc'd to prepare the soil for an oats cover crop. In Fall, the new prairie will be seeded. Work on the oak savanna understory will begin the summer with cutting of underbrush below the beautiful 100 year old bur and white oaks. Later goats will come in to graze the smaller underbrush in preparation for a forest floor seeding.
