Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for ArtStart. Your donation supports transformative, accessible arts programming for kids and adults, including scholarships and residencies for kids in underserved communities. You will help young people grow into brilliant, critical thinkers who are ready to look at the world in new ways and create positive change.

I serve on the board at ArtStart, and I am a composer and performer of music. The arts have been a lifelong, important part of my life, and they have informed my work as a musician and how I think about the world. Quality arts education helps cultivate skills to develop inventive solutions to problems, think creatively about the world, and develop an appreciation for the importance of love, beauty, and kindness.

Because of COVID, ArtStart couldn’t continue to offer arts learning experiences in person, yet kids still needed art. So ArtStart quickly innovated their work to make sure kids could still learn, grow, and heal through the arts. These innovations included video instruction, training professional teaching artists to use Zoom, and creating STUDIO A to offer online classes for kids and adults.
