The Transformation Fund

Headwaters launched The Transformation Fund in response to the murder of George Floyd and to the ongoing culture of violence and white supremacy in our society’s systems and institutions.

When making a contribution to The Transformation Fund please note that 80% of your gift will be granted directly to organizations that work for racial justice. The remaining 20% of your gift will be designated for the Headwaters infrastructure that supports the creation, management, and distribution of this fund. In other words, you’re also supporting the staffing and administration necessary to ensure professional stewardship of The Transformation Fund.

The Fund made a first round of rapid response general operating grants to BIPOC-led grassroots organizations earlier this year.  Later this year we will invest additional grant dollars in groups that demand change and hold law enforcement and elected officials accountable. We invite individual donors and philanthropic institutions to make bold and powerful financial investments to the Fund.
