Tee It Up For The Troops - Longest Day - 2021

As a veteran of the US Armed Forces, I feel privileged to have served my country.   While I have completed my service with minimal adverse effects from combat support operations, some of my fellow servicemen and women were not so lucky.

For our military veterans who deal with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries and other invisible wounds of war, difficult times like this can intensify symptoms of anxiety, isolation, and suicidal thoughts.

Donations made to Tee It Up for the Troops are used to reunite combat veterans, helping them to overcome the hidden wounds of war like anxiety, depression, isolation, and suicide. In addition, they support vetted veteran service organizations that target critical areas of need for Military families, including Housing and Homelessness; Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment; Suicide Prevention; Employment; Family & Caregiver Support; and Golf & Sports Rehabilitation.

I am fortunate enough to participate in a fundraising event called the Tee It Up for the Troops – Bunker Hills Longest Day of Golf for the Troops on June 11 .    “The Longest Day” was a famous book and movie (starring John Wayne) honoring those who fought for our freedom on D-Day (June 6, 1944).   In this Longest Day of Golf For the Troops event, golfers will Tee It Up at the crack of dawn, and play until sundown to raise money for Tee It Up for the Troops and their partner charitable organizations serving the critical needs of fallen and disabled veterans and their families.
