Playground Refresh at Spero Academy NE

The mission of Spero Academy is to empower academic, social and emotional growth for all in a culturally inclusive and collaborative environment. This mission extends beyond the classroom walls and onto the playground, where students engage in social and emotional learning and imaginative play, while getting a dose of the important movement and sensory input needed to learn. 

Our adaptive playground is central to who we are. The carefully designed equipment at each Spero campus accommodates movement- and sensory-seekers of all needs and abilities, for safe and accessible play. But after seven years in our space on California St, the playground at Spero NE has been well loved and it shows! This is why we are calling on our community to help fund a playground tune-up this Give to the Max Day. 

We know that this will be a greater financial undertaking as the buildings and grounds at both campuses endure the test of time. So we’re starting small with a refreshment of the equipment at Spero NE. We are asking our families, friends, and community members to help us reach our goal of $10,000 to keep our star students swinging, climbing, and spinning toward their best learning.
