Dear Friend,
I have the privilege of working for the The Link, an amazing organization that, among many other great things, houses homeless youth. My job is to help these young folks find safe, affordable housing. These are young people between the ages of 18-24 who are literally, verifiably homeless. They are not couch hopping, they are not staying with extended family. They are sleeping outside, they are living in cars, or, if they're one of the lucky ones, they are in a shelter. The participants in our program, Project Live Out Loud, also identify as LGBTQ which brings along a whole host of additional obstacles for them to overcome. I am constantly amazed by the resiliency and determination these young folks bring to the table every single day, despite the barriers they face. We know that these youth are particularly vulnerable when living on the streets. We also know that if we can find them a safe place to call home, and provide them with support, they will not only survive, they will thrive. Please, give what you can to help continue this work.
