On Tuesday, June 17, I will be joining my fellow athletes from Anytime Fitness – Sussex to participate in the Playworks Wisconsin 3rd Annual Corporate Kickball Tournament. With your support, I won’t just be playing kickball; I’ll be helping to expand Playworks programming, so that one day every child has the opportunity to PLAY!

Playworks transforms schools by creating safe, inclusive environments at recess and throughout the school day. They strengthen the social, emotional and physical development of our children, empowering them to thrive in the classroom and beyond.

Playworks sends full-time, trained program coordinators, called “coaches” to playgrounds where they teach elementary students conflict resolution strategies, leadership skills and more to improve their social-emotion well-being. Through these interactions at recess, class game times, Junior Coach Leadership Program, Interscholastic developmental sports leagues and before and after school programming, Playworks has reduced bullying on the playground, decreased the transition time from recess to classroom, and more, all resulting in increased opportunities to learn.

I’ve pledged to raise $250 for this worthwhile cause, but I can't reach that amount without your help. I hope you'll consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to help me meet my goal.

• $1,000 - Covers a four-hour training for parents, teachers, and staff
• $500 - Covers recruiting costs for two Playworks coaches for a new school
• $250 - Covers recruiting costs for one Playworks coach for a new school
• $166 - Covers the cost for one child at a Playworks school for a year
• $125 - Covers travel for two teams to interscholastic developmental after-school sports leagues
• $75 - Provides Junior Coach t-shirts for one school
• $35 - Provides balls and hula hoops for one school
