Thank you for visiting my page!
As you can imagine, it's a really hard time to work in the arts right now (particularly theatre!). Over 90% of my industry is shut down / out of work. I was incredibly lucky at the beginning of the Pandemic. I was set up to begin working with a small company in southern MN. While they had to push back my start date, they were still able to hire me to help them produce digital content - and hopefully in-person content as soon as it's safe!
In about 4 months of working here, I've really come to consider the Commonweal Theatre an artistic home. It's filled with passionate, creative, and talented people with whom it is a pleasure to work every day. I am so very lucky for so many reasons.
My first major project with the theatre was Fully Committed by Becky Mode. I got to learn (with an incredible group of artists) what it means to produce the art we're so passionate about in an entirely different medium, and as a result, share it with family and friends that never would have gotten a chance to see my work!
The company has also been working on other digital offerings including Headspace (for which I've been support staff, if not directly involved), and a Holiday audio stories show. And then gearing up for 2021!
So how do you come in? You can help us stay alive! You can help us continue to make theatre (even in a global pandemic)! You can help me stay with this theatre I've already fallen in love with. How? Donate!
Thank you for reading and doing what you can!

Below is a note from Hal Cropp, Producing Artistic Director of the Commonweal. We both thank you for your contribution in any amount. Each donation helps to ensure our regional arts center will rebound in the coming years. Thank you for supporting our cause!
The Commonweal Theatre belongs to you. Our success is defined by the ways in which we are actively serving and connecting with our community. In the current climate, it means helping people simply feel better by relieving stress and anxiety through our storytelling. It means a full company of professional artists being able to reconnect with you in bringing to life the stories that will uplift, challenge, and inspire the entire family for years to come. To that end, we have been grateful to offer you Root River Anthology, Art of the Entertainer, and Fully Committed, with yet still two more shows to come before the end of the year. We hold dearly our connection with you, and we look forward to connecting with you in person again.
Any amount you give today is vitally important and will go a long way towards ensuring that we are here to serve you in the years to come. We care deeply about the people who make our work possible, and your donation will be put to use sustaining our core company of Artist Administrators, therefore ensuring that the Commonweal itself can continue its mission in the years ahead.
Thank you,
Hal Cropp, Producing Artistic Director
