Help make dreams of higher education come true for young Native American students!

Education is the greatest need. Scholarships make it possible.

In Indian Country, far too many intelligent, ambitious young people can only dream about going to college. Although Native American students now have more opportunity for educational success than at any time in recent history, there are countless obstacles standing in the way of a college degree. For many, the most significant barrier is money. Too many Native families are still living in difficult economic circumstances, and not all tribes can send their young people to college.

You can help bring down those barriers!

The Spirit of Sovereignty – an Indian Gaming Association donor-advised fund at the Indian Land Tenure Foundation – makes the opportunity for higher education a reality. Qualified students at America’s 37 tribal colleges can earn scholarships of $1,000 per semester that are tailored to their specific needs.

Funds may be used for any educational expense including tuition, books, housing, transportation and more.

The Spirit of Sovereignty is supported by the generosity of Indian tribes, corporations doing business in Indian Country, other charitable foundations and individuals who care about the future of our young people. The program is designed to support one deserving student at every tribal college – nationally accredited institutions educating future leaders in a supportive environment that fosters American Indian culture, languages and traditions.
