Give to the Max Day is HERE! Here’s why we hope you’ll donate to Relate Counseling Center this year: 

Relate Counseling Center is a nonprofit organization that has provided community mental health care in Western Hennepin County for 54 years. We serve all ages but specialize in mental health care for children and youth. Last year, we provided support for over 3,300 local children and youth while never turning anyone away for the inability to pay for services.

In 2022, students surveyed by the MN Department of Education reported erosion in their mental health, with 29% reporting long-term mental health problems compared to 23% in 2019 and 18% in 2016. We aim to help children and youth improve their well-being and thrive in school and life. To accomplish this, there must be timely and barrier-free access to mental health care. 

Be Accessible. While Relate provides office-based and telehealth support, we are also onsite in 53 area schools offering accessible, high-quality mental health care regardless of financial limitations.

Be Resilient. Our therapists provide evidence-based treatment so children and youth can learn to cope and be resilient. Resilience won’t make problems go away, but with Relate’s help, young people can develop the ability to see past their problems, manage stress, develop caring connections, and use appropriate problem-solving skills. Over 80% of Relate clients report stabilization or improvement in symptoms.
