Making a difference in the lives of children who struggle with reading is why we were founded 67 years ago. In that time, more than 9,000 students of all ages have come through our doors and left with skills they will use throughout their lives.

With your help The Reading Center can continue to support kids with dyslexia, by building their skills, helping them to find a successful future wherever their passions and strengths lead them.

The Reading Center is serving more families and training more adults in the Orton-Gillingham approach than ever in our history. Last year we served 512 struggling students across all our programming. We trained 55 adults in the Orton-Gillingham approach (50% more than 2016), and we reached almost 5,000 people through outreach events like our young adult panel (80%+ more than in 2015).

We provide guidance over the phone and supply worried parents answers through our educational testing. Through our classes and our extremely effective Orton-Gillingham tutoring we work with students of all ages to gain the skills needed to be good readers.  We provide scholarships to students who would not otherwise receive our life-changing services – almost $60,000 last year.

The Reading Center has responded to your calls to do more for students by increasing the number of kids we tutor and by reaching them wherever they are.  But we need your help. With this growth comes more need: more need for scholarships and more need for trained tutors to help them.

With your donation, so much help is given to struggling readers!  Would you consider making a donation in 2018 to help The Reading Center meet the needs and serve more students?
